14th Station - Jesus is laid in the tomb
13th Station Stations of the Cross
In this final, solemn station, we contemplate Jesus being laid in the tomb—an image that seems to speak of defeat, silence, and the end of hope. Yet within this stillness, God is already at work. The sealed tomb becomes the hidden place of divine victory, where death itself is about to be transformed. As Christ is wrapped in burial cloths and placed in darkness, we are reminded that God’s greatest works often begin where human eyes see only loss. This station invites us to entrust our own “tombs”—our fears, failures, griefs, and unanswered prayers—to the Lord who enters every darkness and fills it with the promise of Resurrection. Here, faith learns to wait, to trust, and to believe that no grave is too deep for the love of God to break open.
